吉林森林工业股份有限公司创立于1998年9月。是以森林培育和林木采伐为基础、以林产加工为主导、以科技开发为动力，林工贸结合，产加销一体的 现代化大型森工企业。主营业务为森林采伐、木材、人造板、林化产品加工和销售、进出口贸易等。公司成立以来，一些主要经济指标在全国同行业中处于领先水平。2002年被吉林省企业联合会、吉林省企业家协会评为“吉林省优秀企业”。2003年被国家人事部、国家林业部评为“全国林业系统先进企业”。
公司最具有特色的是绿色人造板系列产品。“露水河牌”刨花板产品以其绿色环保、规模大、品质好、技术装备先进、自主创新能力强等特点著称于市场，连续多年被评为省优、部优产品，2005年获得“产品质量免检证书”，2006年获得“中国名牌”，2010年10月“露水河”牌刨花板被评为“中国驰名商标”，2012年1月，亚洲品牌盛典组织委员会在北京钓鱼台召开了2011亚洲品牌年会暨表彰大会，“露水河牌刨花板”获得“消费者满意十佳（行业）品牌”称号。
2011年6月，公司通过自主研发改进生产工艺和设备，成功地研制出E0级刨花板，甲醛释放量不大于5mg/100g，经国家人造板质量监督中心检测甲醛释放量（穿孔值）为3.0mg/100g，基本接近木材本身的甲醛量，为国内首创，目前露水河E0级刨花板已全面投放市场。
“霍尔茨”（居室门）是吉林森工股份公司北京门业分公司引进德国Homag公司全套的门板专业生产线及先进生产加工工艺，在国内首家生产德式“T”型门的新睿品牌。“霍尔茨”牌欧式复合门在市场上也享有盛誉。
公司于1998年9月被吉林省政府批准为高新技术企业，2005年被推荐为中国林产工业协会刨花板行业理事长单位。
公司注重企业信息化建设，2002年起开始在原料采购、生产管理、财务分析、库存与销售管理等方面应用用友ERP管理软件，实行远程调用、查询财务状况与产品库存、销售情况，并利用客户关系管理系统（CRM），对客户进行分类管理，明显提高了企业工作效率和管理水平。2003年开通了吉林森工股份公司电子商务网站，利用网络平台传递产品销售订单，加速了销售信息传递；同时，建立了一支网上答疑的幕后团队，每日解答网上客户提出的各种问题；处理产品签订、与投诉事件，提升了产品售后服务质量和企业形象与知名度，为客户网上交流与服务提供了便利渠道。2004年开通了中国林产工业协会刨花板专业委员会网站，面向全国同行业，沟通信息、交流经验、共同发展。目前推行企业内部网与无纸化办公系统，使企业信息化建设又上一个新台阶。
