Koehler – Bright Star LLC, is member of the Marmon/Berkshire Hathaway group of companies and is located in Hanover Township Pennsylvania, USA. Bright Star was founded in the early 20th century (1909) as a manufacturer of carbon-zinc batteries. In the 1930’s Bright Star transitioned the product offering and became the first manufacturer to introduce a safety flashlight; hence the “First Name in Flashlights”. The flashlights were made from high impact injection-molded plastic which held-up in extreme environments. During that period, our products were the first and only products safety certified by the only approval agency in the US , the Bureau of Mines.
