Purpose of the job

Is responsible for the systematic management of health and safety matters and for developing them in UPM China site and offices. Is responsible for the cooperation in the security and health, safety within the unit and for its development. Acts as the contact person of the paper unit towards the public authorities. Follows up the developments of the legislation, regulations and instructions within his/her area of responsibility and make proposal how to response them to the line organisation. Plan together with line organization continuous OHS training to the UPM employees. Leading people based on UPM values and value behaviours.

Key tasks

1.Bring OHS professionalism to the line organisation in health, safety, security matters and drive organization towards interdependent OHS practices.

2. Continuous development of health, safety, security skills and competencies

3. Planning and organising of OHS training and events

4. Proactive cooperation with UPM health organization and public authorities

5. Promote continuously health and safety practices

6. Coordinate and develop site risk management with relevant internal and external parties

7. Create high motivation and healthy atmosphere to ensure effective work practices and ways of working.

Prerequisites

· Bachelor degree, Major in safety engineering preferred. Gain certified safety engineer certificate preferred.

· Over 5 years experiences in safety field, in which at least 3 years must be in MNC.

· Good English, both oral and written.

· Presentation and facilitation skills

· Good PC skills, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

· Experience from diverse functions considered an advantage.
