Safety & Health Engineer (Senior level)
This position will assist Senior Manager, Safety and Health, in interacting with many different parties including Construction Management Services companies (CMC), Jian Li, Contractors, local administrative organizations, Shendi - Shanghai Disney Resort's joint venture partner and its Contractors, to assure compliance with national and international safety and health standards. The position serves as member of the project's core team for maintaining and applying the project safety and health policies and procedures for the Shanghai Disney Resort project. The position requires active participation in construction safety management involving safety audits, inspections, incident reporting & investigations, meetings, trainings, etc.
Responsibilities
The position will work with project's core team to oversee the construction safety management efforts for the Shanghai Disney Resort. Primary responsibilities include:
· Work with Disney's construction management team, consultants, Jian Li, contractors, employees, consultants, contractors, Shendi and local officials to ensure appropriate safety plans and procedures are permits are in place and current. · Assist in organizing, facilitating and providing safety training to ensure Disney's project cast members develop the necessary safety skills and knowledge to meet project and Regulatory requirements.
· Monitor and support safety training conducted by CMC, Jian Li and contractors to ensure all contractor workers receive adequate safety training for their assigned work.
· Continuously participant in the process to investigate incidents, compile, analyze and disseminate incident information; identify and monitor implementation of corrective actions. Be the recourse of the incident/near-miss investigation procedures & processes with support of Senior Manager, Safety and Health.
· Track major safety corrective actions and monitor to ensure accountability is assigned to the appropriate individual.
· Coordinate and participant in internal and external safety audits, inspections and meetings.
· Track and analysis project safety objectives and metrics, and recommend improvement initiatives.
Skills and Experience:
· Good understanding of national and international health, safety and environmental requirements.
· Strong interpersonal skills (written & verbal) with the ability to work effectively and influence all levels of company, contractors and government officers.
· Highly motivated self-directed individual able to manage multiple tasks and solve problems.
· Ability to communicate in English and Mandarin, verbally and in written form.
· 5-8 year of experience in construction safety management including 3-5 years of progressive working experience in Multi-National Companies. OSHA based HSE implementation experience is preferred.
· Minimum bachelor degree in construction, engineering, chemical, or occupational safety, health, industrial hygiene from an approved university preferred.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
